Recitals, Nationals, DLTC, and AI
We are in the thick of it here at Squirrel Trench Audio — producing more than 90 custom Welcome Soundtracks this season. Every one of them represents hundreds of studio families about to experience their dancer's moment their whole year has been building toward. I never take that for granted.
If you have a show on May 9th, the deadline to order a custom Welcome Soundtrack is tomorrow, Saturday May 2, 2026. If you've been thinking about ordering one for your recital, kindly do so asap because production slots are nearly full. https://welcome.squirreltrench.com/welcome-soundtracks-by-squirrel-trench-audio
If custom is not in the budget, we have four premade Welcome Soundtrack options that you can buy and download instantly, for $99. And if your Choreographer's Circle savings level is 10% or more, yours will cost even less. https://www.squirreltrench.com/premade-welcome-soundtracks
What's new in the Squirrel Trench Music Center
We've made some improvements I think you'll appreciate. You can now instantly see every available routine length for a song edit or mix. And if you click on any mix, you'll find other mixes that share one or more of the same songs; a great way to discover related music you might otherwise miss.
The catalog keeps growing too. We now have 1,902 clean, stage-ready song edits and 792 mixes, with three additional producers contributing alongside me: DJ Galaxy, Showtime Kids!, and Ballet Barn Dance, and more producers are coming on board before next season.
Perhaps most useful for your music searching: you can browse by Style of Dance in addition to theme and routine length. I've also placed your Choreographer's Circle info on the Music Store page so you can easily see your current savings: https://www.squirreltrench.com/music-store
A couple of exciting things coming up:
Precision Arts Challenge Nationals — Chicago, June 2026
It was an honor to be chosen to create the mix for Precision Arts Challenge's first-ever Nationals' Opening Number. And it was an even bigger honor to be chosen to give a lunch-and-learn session there. The topic: Five Ways to Make Your Music Work as Hard as Your Dancers Deserve.
DanceLife Teacher Conference — Hollywood, FL, July/August 2026
I'll also be exhibiting at Rhee Gold's DanceLife Teacher Conference at the end of July, and giving away one custom Welcome Soundtrack to a lucky winner!
Let me know if you're going to be at either of these... I always love connecting in person, and learning more about your studio.
Looking further ahead
I have several projects in the works that I can't wait to finish and share. I'm writing the definitive guide to editing music for dance, called Maximum Musicality. I want to be sure I answer all of your music questions in this book, so let me know what music or audio things you've always wondered about. I'm also launching a mix roadmap creation tool that will help anyone who is working on their own mix.
I've been using AI more and more to make my own processes run more smoothly, and I'm looking for ways it might help you run your studio better too. AI has a lot of potential, but it's not always easy to know how to use it effectively. If you have something on your mind — a problem you're trying to solve, a process that eats more time than it should — please reach out. Figuring out how Squirrel Trench Audio can be of service is my favorite part of this work.
Sincerely,
Morriss Partee
